quilting at balmoral cottage
It's been a long time since I've been here..... but it's a new year so I'm aiming to catch you up over the next little while!
The quilt show was a great success! Over 200 hundred quilts were displayed. Caitie got her quilt done just in time (with a little help from mom). Here are some pictures from the show. The first 2 are my quilts, the remaining by other guild members. The Santa quilt is from a Debbie Mumm pattern from about 10 years ago. He lended a nice Christmas coziness to our home over the holidays! The Autumn Leaves wall hanging was from APQ magazine by Kansas Troubles. I changed it to reflect my surroundings. At the time, we lived in a home that had a sycamore, tulip tree, silver maple and red oak tree on its property. I took actual leaves from the trees and used them as templates for the applique. A 4" border surrounds the leaf and flying geese centre.
